About

Who are we?

When it comes to title Work you should be using the best. At Abstracting & Legal Research, Inc. we think that we fall into that category. We have been in business for over 25 years and continue to grow in our industry. Along with that, we continue to keep trainig our employees on the changes that happen regarding title searches in and out of the Courthouse. We realize that what our clients look at when reviewing a title search is only as good as what they have in front of them at the time. All searches must be done in an extremely thorough manner. Therefore we put all of our abstractor's through a training program. This training program is tailored to provide education on legal laws regarding real estate terminology, procedures of each clerk of court's office that we do work in and each of our individual clients needs.

We know that our prices may not be the cheapest in the industry, but we also know through experience that you get what you pay for. It is even truer today in our industry than ever before. We have the experience, training, and dedication it takes to keep providing our clients with the best service possible.

Keep in mind that Louisiana is a rural state. We do have to travel to all parishes to retrieve the research a client needs. Therefore this is reflective in the pricing for the different parishes we provide service in.

What is an Abstract?

An abstract generally refers to and summarizes all documents and proceedings in the public record that affect title to the real estate concerned.

Documents and information needed in development of an abstract may be examined directly from the public records and can be supplemented by indices developed and owned by the abstract.

Preparation of a chain of title by a skilled, responsible abstracter will expedite a real estate transaction for the benefit of both the buyer and seller. The abstractor, working closely with attorneys, brokers and mortgage lenders, plays a major role in the avoidance of loss from land title hazards.
